I’ve always been drawn to the psychology of great design — what catches your eye and influences your actions.

From sketching beside my mum as a kid to leading international campaigns and founding my own studio, design has always been my way of making sense of the world — and helping others show up beautifully in theirs.

A little more about me

Amber Ford, founder of Caliba Studio, seated in a warm modern interior — layered with soft palm imagery to reflect a grounded, intentional design ethos.

I remember watching my mum draw when I was little — how a simple pencil could create something that made people pause. I wanted that. Not just the ability to draw, but to translate feeling into form. I drew on everything I could find. I designed high school art journal covers, sold my first paintings as a teenager, and taught myself Photoshop when it first came out — designing party posters and experimenting with visual storytelling before I knew that’s what it was.

That instinct never left. I didn’t set out to become a designer in the traditional sense. I just kept following the work that moved me — the kind that makes people feel something. Since then, I’ve built identities for global brands and quiet ones alike. But no matter the scale, it always comes back to this: understanding the essence of an idea and giving it a visual language that’s as beautiful as it is intentional.

I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all design. I don’t use templates. I care deeply about the why, not just the what — because great design doesn’t just look good, it works hard. It earns attention, builds trust, and reflects who you are without having to say a word.

And if we work together, you’ll feel that care in every part of the process.
